Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 August 2026
BeautySkIn was designed to work without an account and without a server. Your makeup data never leaves your phone. Here is the detail, in plain language.
The essentials in one sentence
We collect no personal data. There is no account to create. Your photos are never sent or stored. There is no advertising, and no tracker follows you from one site to another.
Who is responsible
The app is published by Nathalie Scharf (AI-Creativ), an independent sole trader based in Martinique, France.
The camera
The app uses the camera to show makeup on your face in real time, and to pick up the colour of a garment or a product when you ask it to.
No image is ever sent anywhere. Face detection runs entirely on your device, through a component embedded in the app that works without an internet connection. The video stream is never recorded, transmitted, or analysed anywhere other than on your phone. The skin scan is fully local as well.
Your data stays on your device
Your makeup kit, your profile, your saved looks and your settings are stored only in your phone's local storage. There is no copy on any server.
- No account to create, no email address requested.
- No data sold or shared, and no personal data passed to a third party.
- No advertising tracker. An anonymous usage measurement exists, described below, and you can refuse it.
- No location data requested or stored.
The only external service
A single optional feature queries an external service, and no personal data is transmitted.
- Barcode scanning queries the free public database Open Beauty Facts to find a product name from its barcode. Only the barcode number is sent, nothing else.
Anonymous usage measurement
To find out which screens cause trouble and which features nobody uses, the app sends technical events. They are hosted in Europe, in Frankfurt, by the PostHog service.
What is sent, and nothing else:
- the name of the screen shown, for example “the first story”;
- the label of the button tapped and the screen it sits on, plus the list of buttons shown on that screen. This is what makes it possible to spot a feature nobody uses and remove it;
- incidents, such as a refused camera;
- a random number that says nothing about you, used only to link the steps of a single visit.
What is never sent: no photo, no makeup kit, no profile, no skin tone, no first name, no address, no location. What you type into a field is not sent either, and button labels are cleaned of anything resembling an e-mail address or a run of digits.
You can refuse this measurement on the “Me” screen, in the privacy section. After that nothing is sent at all, not even the fact that you refused.
Permissions requested
The app requests only two permissions:
- Camera: for makeup try-on and colour capture, locally.
- Internet: only for the barcode lookup described above.
No location, storage, contacts, microphone, or advertising identifier permission.
Deleting your data
Since your data lives only on your phone, you erase all of it by uninstalling the app, or by clearing the app's data in your device settings. No request to us is needed, and we hold nothing to delete.
Children
The app is intended for an adult audience and does not target children under 13.
Changes
If a future version of the app changes how your data is handled, this page will be updated and the date at the top changed accordingly.
A question
Write to us and we will answer as soon as we can.
contact@ai-creativ.frTerms of use
Last updated: 5 August 2026
1. Purpose
BeautySkIn is a mobile application published by Nathalie Scharf (AI-Creativ). It lets you inventory your makeup products, track their period-after-opening dates, and try shades on live through the camera. By installing and using the app, you accept these terms.
2. Access and pricing
The app is currently distributed free of charge. It contains no payment system and no advertising today. Should a paid offering be introduced, it would come with an app update and a revision of this page, and could never be activated without your explicit agreement.
3. What the app is not
BeautySkIn is a practical organisation and try-on tool. It provides no medical or dermatological advice. The expiry dates shown are calculated from what you enter and from the symbol printed on the packaging: they are an aid, not a guarantee. If you have any doubt about a product, a skin reaction or an allergy, consult a health professional.
4. Your content
The photos, colours and product records you save belong to you and stay on your device. We have no access to them, we keep no copy, and we therefore cannot recover or restore them if you lose them. Keep device backups in mind if this data matters to you.
5. Third-party product data
Barcode scanning queries the public database Open Beauty Facts, maintained by a community of contributors. The information it returns is provided as is and may be incomplete or inaccurate. We accept no liability for it.
6. Availability and limitation of liability
The app is provided as is, without any guarantee of uninterrupted operation or of compatibility with every device. We accept no liability for indirect damages, in particular data loss following the uninstallation of the app or a reset of the device.
7. Intellectual property
The app, its name, its interface and its code are protected. Any reproduction or distribution without written permission is prohibited.
8. Changes to these terms
These terms may be amended when the app is updated. The date at the top of this section indicates the version in force.
9. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by French law. For any question: contact@ai-creativ.fr.
